Introduction to the Furzey Hill Physical Circle

Since the formation of the Furzey Hill Physical Circle in 2005, sitters and visitors have been privileged to witness a wide array of physical phenomena including materialisations and transfiguration. We are confident that the rare and controversial phenomena reported in our seance log is genuine, as many independent experiences concur.

Our circle blends the traditional Victorian with the modern experimental circle. Although we sit in a formal arrangement, there is no fixed format to sittings and one evening is seldom like the last. Materialisations and transfiguration are not consistent, their formation is dependant upon the temperament and health of both the medium and sitters. The circle's objective is to work with our communicators in proving the continuance of personality and intelligence after death of the physical body. The sitters and medium of the circle hold full time professional posts and do not profit from sittings, invited guests sit for no charge.

Digital recordings of seances began in May 2008, all without exception have recorded the voices of those we believe to be our communicators. The clarity of the voices can be astonishing as can other auditory phenomena.The voices heard on our seance recordings are not yet able to be explained but we continue to search for an understanding.

Back in black

Over the years we have learnt that without the trust and respect of our communicators and each other, we have no physical circle. Only when conditions are right and harmony is felt between all sitters and the medium, are we successful.

We have been incredibly fortunate to have had wonderful guests and sitters, at times we have had challenging visitors, both have been vital to the circle's growth. However, due to the behaviour of some visitors over the last year and their effect upon the development of the circle, the circle is now closed. Attendance is by invitation only for the foreseeable future.

We are going to take this time to sit in a way that has encouraged and developed communication in previous years. We hope that by spending a period without disturbance, with only trusted members of the circle, that one day we might be able to provide the evidence that supports our beliefs. Seance reports will continue to be posted.

Voice Clip Research

In 2009 a formal study of the voice clips began. A paper will shortly be presented for publication covering all aspects of the recordings. A presentation will be given to the Society for Psychical Research, at their conference in September 2010. The slides will be available on this site post presentation.

A very big thank you to everybody who took part in the online experiments. The data from the second experiment will soon be emailed to all participants who left their email address.
