Contact the Circle

Q : What phenomena can be experienced in a physical circle ?

A : One of the greatest frustrations felt by most new sitters is the lack of apparent phenomena. Before phenomena begins, a firm trust must be established between all circle members and your communicators. If any one is not in harmony, it is very unlikely you will witness anything other than poltergeist activity. The closer you are to those around you, the better the foundation for what may lie ahead. Complete trust is needed for all.

The first likely phenomena will be bangs and raps, these may be heard all around the seance room, in time you should be able to get a response to questions. It is quite common for the group to disagree where the sounds originate. Cold spots are often felt and may develop into cool breezes that move around the circle. If you sit around a table, it is common to feel the breeze on the back of the hands. A cold breeze and a general drop in temperature is a very good sign, especially if all members of the circle are experiencing the same thing. Brief and fleeting lights may be seen, of all shapes and colours. In our experience they began as pin-pricks of light and now appear up to a couple of inches in diameter. Flashes of light can be seen, usually white in colour.

Phenomena such as independent voice and materialisation are much less common, although possible under the right conditions and with a capable medium. Voices begin as vocal sounds and progress to form words then sentences. Trumpets were commonly used to encourage development of this phenomena, but many physical mediums enabled it naturally, without equipment. Materialisations are what every circle hopes for, it is not impossible but be prepared for a long wait whilst the medium and communicators prepare to work in this way.

What you can hope to experience in your own circle is a difficult question to answer as it completely depends upon variables that may be beyond your control. The internet is a great source of information on mediums past and present and the myriad of phenomena they facilitate in their seance rooms.
