Q : What is a physical circle and how is it differant to a mental development circle?

A : A physical circle is a group of like minded people that share a desire to communicate physically not subjectively with those who have made the transition to the next existence.

As a sitter in a physical circle, you are there to support the medium with your energy. Although most sitters in our circle have shown rapid mental development, this is not focused on when sitting and should not be your reason for attending. As a medium in circle your aim is to be a pure channel for communication. The physical mediums task is to put aside themself completely and allow the communicator to use their energy in any way that they choose. This is a bridge of trust and takes considerably longer to form than mental mediumship.

Physical messages come in many forms, direct voice, materialisation and transfiguration to name but a few. Physical phenomena are not commonly witnessed as the combination of energies in a room must be very specific and environmental conditions exact. It is for this reason that most circles begin in complete darkness. Communicators find the lack of visible light helpful when first making contact. With permission and with time, there is no reason not to expect visible light to be used, this may be red or blue depending on the communicators direction.

A mental circle sits for all participants to develop the ability to become increasingly sensitive to spiritual energies and communication via the cognitive senses. All members of a development circle are encouraged to go within and bring forward messages, some are more innately tuned than others but most people if they have a strong desire are able to develop to a degree. The environment for mental mediumship is not as critical as for physical mediumship, although a peaceful, understanding atmosphere will be more productive than a busy, noisy area. There is no requirement to adjust lighting when sitting in a mental circle, but most feel more able to relax in a room with subdued lighting.
