A London Hotel Room, 23rd January 2009 : Rachel , 0750 - 0800 hrs, VN dictaphone.

This was a modern hotel, very clean and welcoming but as part of a chain, it was completely characterless. I did not expect to feel the level of activity that was there. Having no knowledge of what may have stood on the site before the hotel, I can not offer any reason for the level of communication.

The previous evening I had been very tired, despite numerous bangs and requests to record, I chose to go to sleep. Shortly before leaving the hotel for a conference I put the dictaphone on for ten minutes.

None of the voices were particlularly clear or easy to hear on the recording, you will need earphones to hear most of the messages. There was a lot of road noise even though the window was shut, but no infiltration from rooms or the corridor.

I was surprised to recognise a few of our circle communicators that are not usually heard when I am away from home. They seemed to be discussing inviting the locals along to the circle. The clips are in the order they were recorded but were not spoken concurrently.
